Helping Young Adults Break Free from Stuckness, Low Self-Esteem, and Inaction

When a young adult seems frozen—unable to move forward with school, work, or life—it’s easy to assume they’re unmotivated or lazy. But what if they’re not? What if they’re silently carrying something heavy: shame, low self-esteem, and the belief that everyone else is moving on without them?

As a life coach who specializes in working with young adults struggling with executive functioning and life skills, I see this every day. Parents reach out feeling desperate—searching for life coaching near me or support for anxious young adults—hoping someone can help their child get unstuck.

And the good news? We can.

🚫 Shame Isn’t Laziness. It’s Paralysis.

One of my young adult clients recently shared,

“I would never have joined a group like this before. I was too ashamed. It felt like I had a mountain on my back.”

After just a few weeks in coaching, he described his shame as “the size of a sledding hill instead of a ski mountain.”

That’s real progress.

Most of the young adults I work with aren’t lazy at all. They’re overwhelmed by internal pressure, terrified of failure, and stuck in a cycle of avoidance and guilt. They want to change—but don’t know how.

💡 The First Step Isn’t Action. It’s Acceptance.

Parents often try to fix things with job suggestions, chores, or lectures. But if your young adult is dealing with deep-seated shame, those strategies only make things worse.

What they really need is:

  • Emotional safety

  • A sense of capability

  • A simple, structured way to succeed again

That’s exactly what I offer inside my Success Streaks course: a life coaching program that helps young adults rebuild confidence, one small step at a time.

🔄 How Success Happens: One Step at a Time

Every weekday, students in the program do just:

  • ✅ 25 minutes on one goal (career or life skill)

  • ✅ A 5-minute break

  • ✅ 25 minutes on a second goal (personal or adulting skill)

That’s it. But over time, it’s life-changing.

Small daily action builds trust in themselves. The shame lifts. The self-esteem grows. The stuckness begins to melt.

✅ For Parents Searching for Hope and Direction

If you’ve Googled “how to help my adult child move forward” or “life skills coaching for young adults”, you are not alone—and you are not failing. Your child isn’t either. They simply need a different kind of support: outside your family dynamic, with no judgment and a plan that works.

And it starts with compassion.

📣 Success Streaks: New Cohort Launching End of May

The next Success Streaks course begins late May 2025. Enrollment opens soon.

I’m also collecting participant data to publish findings about what truly works to help anxious, stuck, and overwhelmed young adults move forward with confidence and independence. Your child’s transformation can be part of this movement.
